Election observation: new call for participants!

A new selection has been launched for the Election Ovation: Theory and Practice project by JuBIC and partners. Elections in Latvia or Bosnia and Herzegovina (October 2010) are the first upcoming destination for new participants. Easing off visa regime for Belarusians

‘EU is willing to simplify visa procedures but the official Minsk does not move towards the initiative,’ Jean-Eric Holfzapfel, EuroCommision representative in Minsk, answered along these lines to our question. This interview will be used in an updated version of the BorderLand documentary filmed by JuBIC in cooperation with TV Belsat. "Tutejšyja" (Locals) on the Vilnius stage

The Hrodna Locals tour came to be a rare event to bring together so many different Belarusians in Vilnius: from the Belarusian embassy workers and to exiled pro-opposition youth activists. Murder at the Dawn of Spring is to recall a suicide committed by human rights defender Yana Paliakova in the night 6 to 7 March 2009 in Salihorsk, Belarus. More »

JuBIC a member of the international Human Rights House Network

Support for alternative military service in Belarus

JuBIC has joined a letter of concern signed by a number of European NGOs to the Belarusian President Aliaksandr Lukashenka, supporting a citizen of Belarus Ivan Mikhailau and a few others, who are being prosecuted for their refusal to do military service and take a gun because of their religious beliefs.  More »

Belarusian-Lithuanian-Scandinavian mission to Ukraine

From 13 to 20 January the Belarusian-Lithuanian-Swedish group visited Ukraine for the presidential election.
