    Murder at the Dawn of Spring


    JuBIC and Human Rights House Vilnius are hosting a screening of a new documentary by Volha Nikalaichyk, followed by a discussion with the filmmaker. Murder at the Dawn of Spring is to recall a suicide committed by human rights defender Yana Paliakova in the night 6 to 7 March 2009 in Salihorsk, Belarus.  
     

    The tragic event came shortly after an unjust court sentence and humiliating libel in official press. In the film, human rights defenders, friends and colleagues of Yana Paliakova, and former political prisoners, speak about her life and circumstances leading to her death.
