The new president of Lithuania became Dalia Grybauskaite. The election on 17 May was observed by young Belarusians, civil society activists and students of European Humanities University, who participated in an international project organized by United Centre of Initiatives for Belarus (JuBIC) together with partners in Lithuania and Scandinavia.
Election observation in Lithuania is only the beginning of a big Project. Until Presidential Election in Belarus in 2011 the activists of this country will be able to get experience in election observations in neighbouring democracies. In autumn Belarusians are going to observe Presidential Election in Ukraine.
