| Where does freedom begin? At another protest action, a scuffle with those who protect the dictator, or at home, in one's family or one's heart? What are they really like, today's heroes of Belarus? Who is in a more difficult situation: a political prisoner or his mother? Where do they draw their strength from, when everybody else seems to have given up? Can being behind bars actually imprison free spirit? A new film by Belarusian film director Volha Mikalaichyk, "Liberation", is an attempt to comprehend this simple and yet complicated, close and distant, attainable and evasive birth of freedom. Liberation. On 16 March 2009, the Belarusian Solidarity Day, the Human Rights House in Vilnius and United Center of Initiatives for Belarus invites all those who care to the screening of "Liberation" and meeting with the film director and its main characters.
